Broad River Exchange is in collaboration with Kati White White Tatter Art. We are bringing her beautiful art to life through stationery and home decor products. Together, with her one of a kind distinctive art, we are producing stationery, tea towels, pillows, wall art, and more.

About the artist:

Kati White Tatter resides in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, but has spent the majority of her adult life traveling and studying around the globe. Although Kati began her undergraduate studies at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, a summer of study abroad in Florence, Italy, redirected her course forever.

Inspired and energized by Italian culture, Kati abandoned her pursuit of a degree in medicine and instead headed off to the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island.

In Providence, Kati studied sculpture, painting and illustration at RISD and creative writing at Brown University. During this time, Kati returned to Italy for study, traveling on to France for additional study in Paris and the small town of Pont Aven.

Upon completion of a BFA in Illustration, Kati began a Masters Program in Early European Art History and Connoisseurship with Christies Education, London, a degree program of the famed Christie’s Auction House. Kati was awarded her MLitt via Glasgow University, receiving accolades for her extensive knowledge of Biblical art history.

In  the years following her time in London, Kati has worked within the luxury Wedding Industry, from a chic Manhattan stationery house to an exclusive global events organization and gifting service out of Dallas, Texas. Along the way, Kati has created for a wide variety of international and elite clients; designed for various luxury organizations; and created provoking content, logos and even custom paintings through her creative business,
Sara Kate Courture.

Currently, Kati paints from her home studio in Beaufort. She focuses on large-scale botanicals and abstract paintings on canvas and paper. Additionally, she uses her illustration skills to create Lowcountry-inspired illustrations for a variety of home goods.

Kati believes not only in the power of creating, but also in the power of teaching others to create.
She offers in-studio lessons for local, aspiring artists of all ages.

Out of the studio, Kati loves to dance ballet, sing and act in local theatrical productions — when she isn’t busy taking one of her children to a show or audition of their own. Kati and her husband, Josh,  love to travel with their boys and enjoy the relaxed pace of South Carolina living.
